Wildlife Concerns for Resource Development
How do I know if my field operation will be affected by government restrictions designed to protect endangered species?
Boyd PetroSearch maintains a current digital database of all timing and access restrictions. This database can be used as a guideline for planning and execution of seismic, drilling and pipelining activity. We continually update this information from a variety of government and industry sources.
How can I use the Operations Concerns database in my operations?
We provide a number of specialized Alberta wall maps available at many retail mapping outlets. Two of the Alberta maps are the Special Conditions Areas for Resource Development and the Species at Risk Act (SARA).
What are "Species at Risk"?
More than 300 species considered to be at risk are listed under the Species at Risk Act and are subject to special considerations when operating seismic, drilling or pipelining operations in Canada. Failure to observe the required procedures may result in severe penalties for personnel in charge of the operation according to the Species at Risk Act. To protect our clients, Boyd PetroSearch maintains a current database of SARA requirements which is used in the conduct of all operations.
