Earth Modeling Services
Boyd PetroSearch created an earth modeling division in 2008 to continue to meet expanding needs of the oil & gas and potash industries.
What is an Earth Model?
An earth model is a 3D numerical representation of the subsurface that integrates data from multiple disciplines. It is used from early exploration to late development in various resource plays such as potash, oil sands, unconventional gas, conventional oil & gas and gas storage.
How can an Earth Model help?
Boyd PetroSearch developed unique workflows using GOCADŽ to combine seismic, wells and engineering data using complex mathematical relationships. The numerical model is used to run various scenarios of the subsurface conditions in order to assess probabilities, risk and evaluate resource potential. This provides essential input for resources delineation and estimation, ore/grade characterization, well placement and flow simulation.
