Amanda Knowles, MIT
Amanda graduated from the University of Toronto in 1996 with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Human Biology and with minors in Physics and English. In 2007, she graduated from the University of Calgary with a second Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics.
After graduation, Amanda joined Worley Parsons Komex in its geophysics department. She employed near surface geophysical methods, such as electromagnetic (EM) and resistivity (ERT), to delineate the extents of environmentally impacted zones. She also acted as the head geophysicist involved with the testing of water wells in conjunction with a coal bed methane drilling program for a large independent oil and gas company.
In October, 2007, Amanda joined the Potash Interpretation Team at Boyd PetroSearch. She has been active in the interpretation of seismic data to assess potential hazards, subsurface structure and lithology associated with potash mining in Saskatchewan.
